  • Basically if you go over with your data allowance (and it's not capped thanks to i.e Red Sharer) you will be charged £6.50 extra for every 250mb, but extra 1GB or 2GB is added to your personal allowance when you decide to buy it so in this case you will not be charged £6.50.

From the economical point of view it makes more sense to buy extra 2GB because it only costs you £10... when going over 2GB extra with your data would simply cost you around £53.

insert your SIM card into another phone and then request that your PIN gets sent to your number. Once you have that then enter that into the phone that Vodafone Protect has locked and it should work.

If that does not work then you may have to perform a factory reset / hard reset on the phone but beware this will delete any saved data.

You can input your Vodafone mobile number after prompted when using the Landline phone option or if issues exist where the IVR System will not recognise the mobile number then you can opt to ignore the initial prompts to type in the mobile number, and then on approx the 4th request it should then change to ask to input 1 for Payg or 2 for Contract Customers.

General enquiries: Monday to Sunday 8am – 9pm

Data usage while data is off.

you have to be vigilant and constantly monitor your data useage, even if you turn off data in your phone settings some Apps that need data to update will automatically turn it back on, one in particular is Google Play Services, this App has access to 90% or more of your phones function through data and can soak up a vast amount each monthso you have to make sure that your data is turned off and only let Apps update over your home WiFi and only use data on your phone when you need to.

Teaching Kids Digital Photography Basics - a Great Activity for Families

  • Monday, October 11, 2010
  • ATUL DOGRA
  • Being a parent with two children whom I've known closely before and after I bought them their own  digital cameras, I think I notice that a child with a camera is a child who thinks about her environment. The camera just happens to be a tool that forces a child to actually look at what she's seeing.  Clutching a camera all the time, she can't help but be aware that she needs to do something with it that is noteworthy. A camera is something that makes a child look at the world with fresh eyes, and it gently gets you thinking about expressing something with your pictures. And even more so than the conventional camera, thinking and experimenting becomes really fun when you go digital - the results are instantaneous, and that makes the process really engaging. So as a parent, I feel I just need to gently steer her with a few digital photography basics that make sure poor quality results don't get her to lose interest; and I'll need to make sure she has plenty of activities that she would need to take pictures for.

Let's start with a few fun activities for children that could help their budding interest in the art of expressing themselves. My daughters really love the close-up mystery game. One child will take the camera out of the room, and snap a picture of some object really close-up - it could be a vegetable, a part of the body or a part of some familiar toy. She brings it back into the room, and her sister has to look at the close-up shot of a part of an object she's familiar with, and find out what it is. This is such an interesting little activity that even grownups love to do this - there's a popular car review show on TV that has one of these little quizzes at the end of the show each week. We go on day trips out into the country where the children can take pictures of butterflies and little flowers, and learn their names. They would never want to do this if it didn't have a camera.

Another activity is where I teach her digital photography basics (without becoming too pushy) that she can handle. When I would want to play with my mother's camera when a child, she took it as a great way to begin schooling me in the art of photography. She just turned out to be a little too enthusiastic, and even looking at her camera meant that I would soon listen to an hour's lesson about what stance to use and how each kind of angle affected the lighting. I learned my lesson then, and now, when my daughters try to use their cameras, I make sure that the lessons I give them are few and far between.

I find ways to show them how to hold the camera steady, and to actually compose their shots before they press the shutter button. I show them how their subject looks prettier when they don't rush into it. I have them check out the angles and the backgrounds they will frame their subject against. It shows them the value of patience and how a background that has the least bit going on, and is the simplest to look at , can be the best way to bring out the subject to the fore. I also ask them to pick their subjects wisely. They need to look at something that really piques their interest; I keep asking them about how they see the picture in their mind's eye, and I won't let them touch the button until they see on the screen exactly what they see it in their imagination. And they need to make sure that the shot is close enough to actually bring the subject out in enough detail. I feel that teaching them the value of experimentation and patience are the  most important lessons in the way I coach them in digital photography basics. More often than not, it's the thought behind the shot that counts - not any technical perfection.

Tips on Selecting Internet Broadband Providers

  • ATUL DOGRA
  • In case you are still bound to dial:up and also other slow web connection speeds, after that it is time to move broadband. Broadband access or perhaps broadband can be any interconnection that surpasses 768 kilobits per subsequent. This tolerance was raised caused by faster web speeds punching the marketplace. Generally however, broadband access is actually any rate that is 256 kilobits every second. This particular lack of promoting standard involving broadband signifies that broadband internet vendors determine for their own reasons what data transfer rates to offer because broadband. Therefore, when selecting any broadband isp, consider the coverage of the company and exactly what definition high speed is supplied in terms of rates of speed, downloads as well as upload instances.

Always Check Reviews on Internet Broadband Providers on Web

Consider in addition the number of folks that will be expressing your internet link. That’s right, several broadband internet vendors will discuss your link in a town access system under the presumption that you will, in many instances it actually is true, 't be using the complete capacity of your respective connection. The truth is, it will virtually be extremely hard to know that you will be on a distributed broadband link unless you are utilizing a fellow-in order to-expert file revealing system that will need extended large bandwidth use. However, so long as you are not an everyday P2P report sharing technique user as well as are not a youtube video streamer, next broadband internet companies that offer distributed connection might work out to suit your needs just fine.

Broadband providers possess a variety of ways to supply broadband rates of speed. They may utilize ADSL, fibers-optic, Wi:Fi or even WiMAX. The type of technology applied will usually be determined by what can be found in that distinct areas and also the overall cost associated with deployment as well as maintenance. One way is by providing broadband rates of speed on sluggish connection such as the dial--up. This is achieved by adjustable-backlinks modems inside what is called fill balancing. a couple of internet connections are generally fed about the same network giving double information rates. Nevertheless will require anyone to have two dial*up online connections, 2 modems and a specific software which supports multiple-backlinks. The advantage of this can be that one grows to choose only two internet service companies and extends to always have an association because if 1 fails, the next line will take up the slack and offer the identical services and not using a hitch.

Broadband internet speeds have got continued to boost and the popular use of dietary fiber-optics means that the best way to will have broadband with affordable costs. Java Database connectivity guide from DataBase Guide

  • Tuesday, September 14, 2010
  • ATUL DOGRA
  • Java database connectivity is basically an application that enables users to access pertinent data by the use of queries. The users can update significant information within the given database. The program supports the access to files from spreadsheets, flat files and databases transforming into backstage access to database independent to database management system used. Java database connectivity provides an easy to use platform by choosing the most appropriate platform to use. One simply needs to retrieve an object from the driver manager.

High availability usually describes a network and all of its components available for data input, processing and report. The system determines the success depending on planning and understanding the tolerance that would affect the network. Even at small corporation level, high availability is desirable and necessary. As system failure should not bring down the entire system, so fault tolerance is important measure of high availability system. Thus creating such a high availability system involving extensive planning with least potential failure is very important.

Disasters may occur naturally or man made and is usually difficult to predict their occurrence. Disaster recovery is the ability of a system to recovery its entire electronic data in shortest possible time interval. It involves a lot of forward planning and policy settings. Possibilities involve facing a number of threats like hacking, electrical failure, human error and natural disasters. Keeping off-site data backups may be sufficient for smaller corporations, but in case of a larger corporation it would be provisioned and costed as a part of their annual budget.

Merging two or more databases and producing a meaningful report is what we call as data integration. It is thought as a major headache for IT professionals. Databases are designed such that they suit the need of the software used and not for merging purposes. Creating a report would mean combining a number of databases having different formats. Merging requires special database combining skills. So, compatibility between various databases by implementing new versions is the need of IT departments these days. So, many of the bigger companies in the corporate world were created thru data merging using different software and databases.

Thus in Java database connection, one would learn to manipulate certain files in order to develop query statements. One needs to keep in mind that they are represented by statements, prepared statements and callable statements procedure.

  • It would seem difficult to keep up with how fast today’s manufacturing and IT companies are coming up with new and improved gadgets to replace older versions. Within the past couple of years, not a few mobile phone models, computer gadgets, gaming consoles, mobile audio-visual equipment, and so many other gadgets of all shapes, sizes, and uses have been introduced into the market. As new ones are launched and old ones are phased out, the prices are getting to be more and more affordable for everyone. The most recent gadget launches in the past year are the super thin Air MacBook, the net books, the iPhone, and the Nintendo Wii gadgets.

Despite the financial crisis in the past year, these new gadgets have enjoyed the patronage of probably millions of people worldwide. The Air MacBook was popular for its portable convenience – it was unveiled from a brown document envelope. It is so popular because it’s from Apple. The downside to this is that it is so thin it could not accommodate a disk drive. Ultra small net books were also introduced in the market as ultralight, ultra portable, and ultra durable. These net books were initially launched for school kids. Its small screen (usually 8 inches) and scaled keyboard make it a challenge for adults with bigger hands to use these net books.

Another hit from Apple was the iPhone. Millions of consumers all over the world lined up to get their very own iPhones hours before the stores opened to simultaneously make this all-in-one gadget available to the public. The iPhone is a phone, PDA, web browser all in one convenient unit. Nintendo is not far behind in the innovation side when it launched the Wii.
